Memorial BBQ
The Memorial BBQ is a heartfelt gathering for families, staff, and the community to honor the memory of those who have passed while receiving care from our hospice team. It provides a space for families to come together, reflect on their loved ones' lives, and support each other in their grief journey. Through food, music, and shared stories, we celebrate the legacy of those we’ve lost while also finding comfort in the presence of others who understand the challenges of loss and grief.

What to Expect:
-
Barbecue Feast: The heart of this event is a delicious barbecue meal, offering a variety of grilled foods, sides, and desserts. It’s a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where everyone can gather, share a meal, and reminisce.
-
Remembrance Ceremony: A brief, meaningful ceremony will be held where attendees can take a moment to remember and honor their loved ones. This might include a reading of names, a candle-lighting ceremony, or a moment of silence. It’s an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the lives of those who have passed.
-
Sharing Stories and Memories: Families are encouraged to share stories, memories, and photos of their loved ones. It’s an open space where people can express their feelings, reflect on happy moments, and offer support to others who are grieving.
-
Supportive Environment: Hospice staff and grief counselors may be available to offer support, provide comfort, and answer any questions that attendees might have about the grieving process or available resources.
-
Community Connection: The event serves as a reminder that even though our loved ones are no longer with us, their memories live on. It’s an opportunity to connect with other families who have experienced similar losses and find support within the community.
